Turkey responded to the question about the corridor for the exchange of prisoners of Russia and Ukraine

Turkey is negotiating a prisoner exchange corridor between Russia and Ukraine

Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said on Tuesday that there were contacts on the issue of opening a new corridor for the exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine.

“This issue is on the agenda, contacts on it are ongoing at various levels. Initiatives in this direction are under the leadership of President Erdogan, we hope to achieve some results,” Kalın told reporters when asked if negotiations are underway regarding a new corridor for the exchange of prisoners of war.

Russian Human Rights Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova earlier said she expected clarity from Turkey on a roadmap for a humanitarian corridor.

Earlier, Tayyip Erdogan said Ankara supports opening a humanitarian corridor for the wounded in connection with the situation in Ukraine and is ready to take over their treatment.
